Seat Altea

The SEAT Altea offers a choice of three trims and six engines – three petrols and three diesels.

There are two levels of trim for the 1.2-litre TSI petrol - S or S Emocion - while the 1.4-litre TSI is available in SE. A 2.0-litre diesel in SE trim offers 138bhp.

The latest SEAT Altea’s front end has a grille with a smaller SEAT brand logo and a chrome surround. The front bumper is straighter and contains ventilation slats and there are larger headlights.

At the rear the back window covers the full width of the hatch.

Inside the latest SEAT Altea there are changes to the steering wheel, controls, instrument cluster, centre console and seats.

The SEAT Altea is a family car with five seats and a two-tiered 409-litre capacity boot which expands to 510 litres if the optional sliding rear seats are extended forwards by 14 cm.

The SEAT Altea has TSI direct injection petrol and TDI common rail diesel engines and a dual-clutch DSG gearbox.

There is a multi-link rear suspension and electro-mechanical power-assisted steering. The SEAT Altea offers the option of individual driver and passenger climate control and infotainment systems.

The SEAT Altea offers safety systems including anti-lock brakes, traction control and an electronic stability programme with an emergency brake assist system.

The SEAT Altea is available in three specifications - S, S Emoción and SE. The S model gets twin front airbags, side and curtain airbags, air conditioning, tyre pressure monitoring, MP3-compatible six-speaker radio/CD player with AUX-in and electric front windows.

The SEAT Altea has five or six-speed manual gearboxes depending on the model, plus a DSG sequential manual/automatic transmission which is offered with the 1.6-litre TDI CR 105 PS and the 2.0-litre TDI 140 PS.

There are Ecomotive versions which record average fuel economy of more than 60mpg and carbon dioxide emissions of 119 g/km. There is start/stop technology and an energy recovery system. Used SEAT models are not quite as efficient.

The SEAT Altea Ecomotive also has a gearshift indicator.

The SEAT Altea has speed-sensitive electro-mechanical power steering plus remote central locking, an alarm and an, immobiliser.

The SEAT Altea’s layout includes a number of cabin storage areas.

The SEAT Altea offers options such as a satellite navigation system with 3D map display and SD slot for MP3 playback, DAB digital radio tuner, rear seat entertainment system featuring seven-inch screen, front and rear parking sensors and optical parking system, plus bi-xenon headlights.

The SEAT Altea has a sweeping line that goes from practically the tip of the bonnet to the end of the roof.

The wiper blades are concealed in the A-pillars.

A line starts at the front wheel and descends across the doors to the rear wheel arch.

The rear light clusters are still located at the outer edge of the body.
